It doesn't get any more authentic than Italian leather. Each of our bags is handmade using premium Italian full grain leather. You'll know from the moment you breathe in and feel the leather that your Republic of Florence purchase is authentically, classically and beautifully Italian. 

 

Italian leather feels and wears far better than the commonly used and cheaper Asian leather. It also looks much better and requires very little maintenance.

Vegetable-Tanned refers to the dying process. Our leather is hand-dyed using natural substances without the use of harmful chemicals. This artisan technique, centuries old,  is still used to retain the natural look of the leather.  Each bag will have naturally occurring variations that are unique to it, so no two of our bags are the same. Your bag will be as unique as you are.
